I've been thinking for awhile about how to share all of the old family photographs I have. For my benefit, for my family's benefit, and for the enjoyment of anyone who is interested in the stories and people of the past.
I've decided to share the photos in a new blog called Pictures from the Past.
The people you'll see in this blog are my people. I'm particularly interested in their stories. And I'm fortunate to have thousands of photographs to help tell those stories.
I'll share what information I have about the photos, which in a lot of cases won't be much. But you know what they say . . . a picture's worth a thousand words.
Most of the photos on this blog will be of my side of the family, thanks to my mom, who spent countless hours scanning and converting old photographs to digital format. She even helped convert some of my husband's old family photographs, so I'll share some of those here too.
Looking through all these old family photos, I've realized I come from a long line of prolific picture takers. I've noticed that my dad had (and probably still has) quite a knack for photography. Which helps explain why I take so many pictures.
These are the kind of photographs I would find fascinating, even if I weren't related to the subjects. Hopefully you'll enjoy them too!
