It's a snow day! Which means everyone slept in and we had time to make pancakes for breakfast! Whole Wheat Banana Pancakes. YUM!
I'm not complaining, because I like sleeping in as much as the next person, but I just can't figure out why we're having a snow day. Last time it snowed, we had 8 or 9 inches, tree limbs were coming down all over the city, and everyone went to school. Today, we have about three inches. I can still see the grass in my back yard.
I guess the weather man frightened everyone with his predictions of 13 inches. I don't know what mathematical equation they used to decide when to call off school, but it's obviously some of that newfangled math the kids (and certain superintendents) are using these days.
Our superintendent is from Wyoming. You'd think he'd be experienced with winter weather. But he just can't seem to get it right.
Maybe being from Wyoming is his problem. I spent most of my school age years in Wyoming, and we never had one snow day. Not one. EVER. Not even when the snow was drifted up above the windows. So maybe our superintendent has no frame of reference when it comes to calling a snow day. I hear people from Canada have the same problem.
So here we are, all cooped up inside. Together.
Apparently, the pancakes are going to be the highlight of our day. Things have rapidly gone downhill from there. It's windy and ugly out. Not exactly go-outside-and-build-a-snowman kind of weather. So everyone has resorted to fighting over whose turn it is to play the X Box.
But the pancakes were delicious!

Look at what we woke up to this morning! I don't mind snow on October 10, but a high temperature of 26 degrees? That I could do without.
